others may have wine, i have poetry

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute.

We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race.

And the human race is filled with passion.

And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life.

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

lessons learnt

no one teaches you
to lose a friend to another friend
to lose a friend to another world
to lose yourself for a friend
to find yourself in a friend
to find a friend in yourself

to stumble, crash and fall in love
to wake up and walk out of love
to struggle and stay in love
to stay and struggle in love
to define what exactly is love

some lessons are just learnt
never taught
