others may have wine, i have poetry

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute.

We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race.

And the human race is filled with passion.

And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life.

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

terror....26/11

terror strikes
like a snake it rises its ugly head
its evil eyes..contemptful
it spits and hisses
and spares no one
indiscriminate...pure and poisonous
it bites all...no regrets

when it slithered into our world
no one knows
for how long its laid there
waiting and preparing to strike

we ask questions now
we scream after the kill

why didn't anyone see or recongnise it?
what chameleonistic trick did it do?

we give it exotic names
and play blame games
who is the charmer behind the snake?
why did we take so long to rise and wake?
