others may have wine, i have poetry

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute.

We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race.

And the human race is filled with passion.

And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life.

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

soul

i take it all in
and then i let it all go
i'm trying to try
i'm going with the flow
i'm not trying to make sense
i'm not bothering to rationalize
just taking things as they come
and tryin not to sensationalize

my poetry is all i have
its all i hold on to
it is all i feel
and all i see
it is all i try to be
i know it isn't fantabulous
but atleast its "me"..
as much a part
as this heart
and soul...

I can see a lot of soul searching here...and i guess by 'soul' u mean your inner self(not the Indian version).. I really like the way in which the no. of words keep increasin in the first paragraph and keep decreasing in the second(called yati in sanskrit and a prevalent poetic device). I guess it was uninteional but if u can do try to include such devices(but not at the cost of dilution of thoughts)
